No one will that you used a packaged brownie mix and hacked it into delicious “homemade” brownies. By added your own great ingredients — your brownies will officially be homemade. The best brownies taste fudgy and rich, have a nice crackled skin on top, ever-so-slightly crisp edge pieces and an intense chocolate flavour. Add extra texture by incorporating chocolate chips and some nuts (optional) - make this recipe you own!

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F, or as per the instructions on the package.
- Grease or parchment line an 8" x 8" square brownie pan.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, oil and vanilla until all combined.
- Add the dry brownie mix to the liquid, along with the salt. Mix until just combined - do not over mix.
- Fold in the nuts and chocolate chips, if using until all combined. Don't worry if there are small lumps in the batter.
- Bake according to the package directions.
- Let cool before cutting and serving.
- You can serve this either plain or garnish it with berries or powdered sugar. I used the icing mix that came in the package.
